Psionicists have discovered how to tap into their own psychic powers. They can manipulate matter, create fire, or control their own bodies with but a thought.
Brainburn: When a psionic character rolls a 1 on his Psionics die (regardless of his Wild Die), he is automatically Shaken. On a critical failure, the psi lets out a psychic scream that causes him to be Shaken along with all allies in a Large Burst Template who fail a Spirit roll. This can cause a wound.

Aelfryth grew up in Charm, Nexus of the World, in the poverty of the sewers
Touched by Fey spirit [Rozlayn] and led to Merata
Sees in Salvana’s Oasis a chance for nature and civilization to exist in harmony
Has the blood of elves and fey, but does not know it
Fled from Charm after gambling
Fey connection made itself known and taught him powers of the mind, potential to tap into the Feywild
Desires to know as much as possible about Salvana’s Oasis, to uncover the secrets of its denizens and surrounding land, and to help guide it in its infancy to become a marvel of nature and man alike
Extreme interest in all things fey and elven upon Merata


Hindrances Explained
Curious: Aelfryth has always wanted to know things he should not. For a while, others believed he wanted power, he thought he wanted secrets, but after years of constant misadventure, he has finally come to realize the truth: he wants to know anything he’s not supposed to know. The ability to use that information has never truly interested him, just the knowing, the collecting of knowledge that others do not get to have. The first power taught to him by his fey benefactor [Rozlayn] was Mind Reading and with that single gift, he was hooked.

Phobia (Fey Weakness): Aelfryth’s constant connection with Rozlayn, his fey benefactor, taints his worldview. He perceives the weaknesses of the fey as terrifying, affecting him. Most notably, the ship captain who brought him to Port Town bore a cold iron amulet. Upon seeing it, Aelfryth became violently ill and locked himself away below deck coming out only to gamble.

Poverty: Luck has never been kind to Aelfryth, but something about the lure of dice, the next card in the deck, takes hold like the promise of a whispered secret. He gambles, a lot, and usually does not fare well. Interestingly, this is less from a real lack of luck and more because he’s not as interested in the wealth, but discovering the truth in the game.
